Add computed columns to your explore tables

You can now create computed columns in the explore view — dividing one column by another, combining metrics, or building on top of previously computed columns to get the exact metrics you need.

This is especially useful when you want FTE-normalized metrics, specific DORA calculations, or any other key metric you’re used to tracking that Swarmia doesn’t offer as a ready-made view. Instead of working around the data available, you can now shape it to match how your team thinks about engineering work.

To get started, click the + icon in the top right corner of the explore table and select custom column, then computed column. From there, choose the function you’d like to apply. You can also stack computed columns on top of each other.
