Import time-off periods via API to improve data accuracy

Accurate full-time equivalent (FTE) data is essential for investment balance insights and software capitalization. Now you can import time-off data through our API, giving you another way to maintain precise effort calculations.

Time-off periods directly impact your FTE calculations, which determine how much engineering effort goes into capitalizable work. Without accounting for vacations, sick days, and other time away, your capitalization reports could overstate the actual effort invested in new features versus maintenance work.

You now have three options for importing time-off data to Swarmia:

  • HR system integration: Connect your HR system directly for automatic sync
  • CSV import: Upload time-off records manually with a CSV file
  • API import (new): Automate time-off data imports from your own systems

To get started, navigate to settings → integrations → HR system and select the API tab. You’ll find more information about the API and the related documentation next to the file upload.

More updates

  • We recently completed a SOC 1 (Type 1) audit for our software capitalization feature, ensuring the reliability and correctness of our internal control for financial reporting.
