Import time off periods with a CSV file to improve data accuracy

Getting accurate full-time equivalent (FTE) data is essential for investment balance insights and software capitalization. But what if you can’t connect your HR system to Swarmia? Now you can import time off data directly from a CSV file, making it easy to maintain accurate effort calculations regardless of your HR setup.

When you’re doing business-critical reporting such as software capitalization, every detail counts. Time off periods directly impact your FTE calculations, which determine how much engineering effort goes into capitalizable work. Without accounting for vacations, sick days, and other time away, your capitalization reports could overstate the actual effort invested in new features versus maintenance work.

Get started

Navigate to settings → integrations → HR system and select the data import tab. Upload your CSV file, and Swarmia will automatically process the time off records and adjust FTE calculations across all your insights. Our documentation provides the CSV format requirements and best practices for preparing your import file.

More updates

  • Swarmia now maintains a complete history of team membership changes. This means pull request counts, cycle times, and deployment metrics stay consistent even after team changes, improving accuracy when comparing team performance across different time periods.
